Christmas felt truly underway as the Partnership’s service user and staff choir performed their annual festive concert.
The conference centre at St Pancras Hospital was packed with visitors who heard Chief People Officer, Ben Browne, thank those involved in the event for their hard work and dedication.
Ben joked: “I used to be in the choir at school but got dropped after my voice broke so I haven’t done much singing since! I think I will leave that to all of you tonight – thank you to everyone who supports the choir and has been involved in putting on tonight’s performance”.
The concert was just the latest in a string of performances for the choir which is led by Bee Ororo and Julie Harrington from the charity Key Changes.
Over two hours, they performed a medley of Christmas favourites and other songs from their repertoire. Guests joined in and helped themselves to mince-pies, mulled wine and other festive snacks.
Choir founding member, Simon Ramage, a member of staff and also a Staff Governor, said: “The choir means a lot to so many people struggling with loneliness or mental health challenges”.
Simon, who started the choir with Wendy Savage, a former lead governor, added: “We are so pleased with what the choir has achieved over the last few years supported by the C&I charity.
"For some it is a lifeline providing support as they go through difficult times. A huge thank you to everyone who has come along tonight or has been involved in any way in the performances”.
Last night our C&I NHS Choir performed their annual Christmas concert at St Pancras Hospital. It was a brilliant night full of festive favourites!
