The Partnership’s Someone Like Me Campaign is celebrating a double-win this awards’ season.
The recruitment campaign, which aims to get local people into healthcare roles across our organisation, won the Improving Outcomes: Management Team Award at the 2023 Healthcare Honours. It was also the Gold Winner in the Chartered Institute of Public Relations' Healthcare and/or Wellbeing Campaign.
Our Deputy Director of Workforce Operations, Kate Swift, and Associate Director of Communications, Angela Boon, (pictured), collected the Management Team Award at a ceremony at the House of Commons.
Presenting the winners with their trophies was Dr Jonathan Van-Tam, the government’s former Deputy Chief Medical Officer, who became a household name during Covid for his appearances at the daily press briefings.
Paying tribute to all the winners, Dr Van-Tam said the judging panel had faced a challenging task, given the “extremely high” standard of all the entries.
Successful impact
The Someone Like Me Campaign, was earlier honoured in October as the Gold Winner in the Chartered Institute of Public Relations Healthcare and/or Wellbeing Campaign.
The judges agreed that the campaign “had clear and measurable objectives, across a variety of metrics”. The evidence-led nature of the idea, research and planning as well as testing were impressive.
They added: “To use real people and stories to lend authentic support to awareness raising worked highly effectively on all channels. It is no surprise this thorough strategy delivered such a successful impact”.
Pinchpoint Communications
The Partnership Recruitment and Communications Teams had worked closely with an external partner, Pinchpoint Communications, on devising the campaign and getting buy-in from hundreds of staff, service users and carers.
Their moving testimony, via video and text, of what it was like to work or be cared for by the Partnership was the campaign’s unique selling point and resulted in a significant rise in new recruits.
Partnership Chief Executive Jinjer Kandola said: “Massive congratulations to everyone who was involved, including those who are no longer at the Partnership, but who were instrumental in getting this campaign moving.”
