This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Windrush generation's arrival in the United Kingdom. The Windrush generation's journey and subsequent contributions have shaped the cultural, social, and economic landscape of the NHS and the nation as a whole. To honour their resilience, courage, and invaluable contributions to the NHS and the British society, events and activities have been organised to celebrate them. The events aim to provide an opportunity for reflection, education, and celebration.
We believe that fostering a deeper understanding of the Windrush legacy is crucial, not only to appreciate the history but also to promote inclusivity and cultural diversity within our organisation and beyond. By joining together to commemorate this milestone, we can strengthen our commitment to promoting equality, combating discrimination, and creating an inclusive environment for all staff members.
We are reaching out to you today to extend a warm invitation to celebrate 75 years of Windrush. Whether you are directly connected to the Windrush generation or simply interested in learning more about this important chapter in British history, your engagement would be greatly valued.
