We would like to extend our gratitude to all the dedicated and passionate external stakeholders and partners from the voluntary and community sector who attended this week’s Patient Benefits Case engagement session.
This was the latest in an ongoing series of sessions aiming to gather feedback and thoughts on the Patient Benefits Case as part of our journey to form a single trust by bringing together Camden and Islington Foundation Trust and Barnet, Enfield and Haringey NHS Trust.
The event resulted in positive and enthusiastic discussions around three priority pathways that are crucial to our commitment to delivering outstanding healthcare:
The engagement and contributions from our dedicated and passionate attendees was truly commendable.
Dr Uttara Mandal, joint Clinical Lead for Older Adults, remarked “This has been a great opportunity today to speak to many of our partners and colleagues who work in the voluntary care sector to find out their thoughts on what could improve the care for people with dementia living in the boroughs served by our two trusts. We’ve heard a lot about the good work that’s going on and also about how we could improve the support available to our carers and people with dementia living in the community to actually give them a better experience in the care they receive and reduce the risk of developing crises and accessing support earlier."
Mariam Ajayi, Team Manager, London Borough of Barnet Mental Health social work, spoke passionately at length about the untapped potential for increased NHS and VCS collaboration. You can listen to that in full here.
Chris Wild, Lead Community Engagement Practitioner for MIND in Enfield, also reflected on the day and how we need to work together to find solutions for better outcomes for our patients. You can listen to what Chris has to say here.
As we continue along this significant journey, it is crucial to have the perspectives of our staff, our service users, carers, and external stakeholders, including the Voluntary and Community Sector, as we develop a full Patient Benefits Case to demonstrate in greater detail exactly what those benefits will be for those using our services, as well as for the wider partners with whom we work. These collective insights will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our united trust continues to deliver the highest standard of care and addresses the unique needs of our service users.
