Date of permanent move: Spring 2024 (exact date to be confirmed)

Our Personality Disorder Service is temporarily moving from Dartmouth Park Unit in Highgate West Mental Health Centre to Margarete Centre in Euston, on Friday 3 November 2023, before the service permanently moves to the new an Integrated Community Mental Health Centre in Lowther Road, Islington in Spring 2024.

The new central location at Margarete Centre (picture on the right hand side) provides excellent public transport links and the building has been internally refurbished to create a therapeutic and welcoming environment for both service users and staff.

Relocating the service is part of the wider St Pancras Transformation Programme, providing brand-new, fit-for-purpose facilities in modern and welcoming spaces. Moving the Personality Disorder Service to Margarete Centre long-term would not be suitable, for a number of reasons including access. Therefore, the decision around a permanent move to Lowther Road has been made following engagement and feedback from service users, carers and staff to ensure the location, building and environment provide the best possible experience for everyone.

What you need to know about the temporary move to Margarete Centre

•  Contact details for the service, including the email address and phone number, will remain the same. We will let you know if there are any changes in future. As a reminder, they are: DPU@candi.nhs.uk and 020 3317 6999.

•  The process for GP referrals will remain the same.

• Service users and carers have been informed about the changes by their allocated case worker. Support will also be given to service-users with a disability who require special arrangements in accessing the building.

• The move to Margarete Centre will take place Friday 3 November reopening on Tuesday 7 November.
